FAQs
What is the difference between Microblading and Nano Brows?
Nano Brows is the next generation of microblading. The technique of Nano Brows uses a tattoo machine to inject the pigment into the skin because the Nano technique does not cut the skin. It is less invasive and is a less traumatic technique for the skin in comparison to the microblading technique.
Microblading is cutting of the skin to implant pigment into the skin and in some cases, microblading can cause scarring of the skin over time.
Microblading uses a razor-like tool to cut and push the pigment in the skin.
Nano Brows uses a tattoo device and a single needle to inject pigment into the skin.
Both techniques are considered permanent makeup procedures and provide the look of realistic hair strokes in the skin.
What is the Aftercare?
After the appointment, any redness or irritation will subside in the next 2 hours.
During the first week of healing, the New Nano Brows will look dark and intense. It is important to remember that the first week of the NEW Nano Brows is not the true results.
The typical healing time is about two weeks.
Things to avoid while healing:
Tanning, Swimming, Saunas, Hot tubs, Gym, or any activity that may cause you to excessively sweat for two weeks.
Facials, chemical peels, retinol, vitamin e oils, or any products that may promote the skin to peel more rapidly for two weeks.
Avoid wetting the new Nano Brows for at least 3 days.
No makeup on the new Nano Brows.
Activities that require you to lay on your face.
Picking or peeling the scabs on the new Nano Brows.
Aftercare instructions:
For the first 3 days, avoid all water contact on the new Nano Brows.
On the fourth day, apply a very thin layer of the A&D ointment to the new Nano Brows. You may use clean fingers to apply the ointment.
Use the A&D ointment 2-3 times a day for 7 days.
After 2 weeks, you may resume all regular activities and skincare routines.
After 3 weeks, use SPF 60 to protect your new Nano Brows from fading.
Do I need to book a consultation prior?
All New Client Appointments are scheduled for two hours. Our experienced artists will provide the consultation, shaping, and tattooing all in one appointment in this time frame.
For the consultation portion, we take careful consideration of each client's eye shape, bone structure, and personal preference.
Before proceeding to the tattoo portion of the appointment, we carefully measure and outline a shape that is the most flattering for the client’s features.
We will suggest a shape that is the best suited for the client and once the client approves the shape we will proceed to the tattooing process.
What pigments do you use?
We use Permablend pigments. The ingredients are a combination of powdered pigments, glycerin, witch hazel, isopropyl alcohol, aqua, rosin, and DMDM hydantoin.
Permablend pigments are gamma-ray sterilized, vegan and cruelty-free.
I have a previous tattoo/microblading can you tattoo over or fix them? Will it be a touchup?
It is advised to email with clear pictures for approval first, before booking your appointment online.
The tattoo must be VERY faded to work over or corrected.
Working over other artists' work is often more work than working on a blank canvas and for that reason, we DO NOT touch up other artist’s work for touchup pricing.
**Extra fees will apply if color correction is needed.
How often do I need touch-ups?
How touch-ups work:
We typically recommend a more conservative eyebrow shape and color for your very first appointment.
After your first Nano Brow appointment, you’ll be pre-booked for a two-month follow-up appointment.
The purpose of a follow-up appointment is to make any adjustments to the shape or color based on the healed results.. This follow-up appointment is optional.
Annual touch-ups are recommended to maintain the shape and color of the tattooed eyebrows.
The life span of the eyebrow tattoo:
Nano Brows – typically lasts around one year.
Combo Brows – can last up to two years
The client’s skin type, age, and lifestyle do play an important role in how quickly they fade.
Example: Oily skin with larger pores will typically the tattoo will last about one year whereas dry skin with little to no pores the tattoo will last up to two years.
What are the benefits of Nano Brows?
Longer lasting results for clients with normal – oily skin.
Better shape and color retention.
No hair stroke shrinkage in the bulb area.
Fewer touchups lead to better skin integrity.
Higher client satisfaction rate.
Less pain and no tearing of the skin sounds.
Why do eyebrows change colors eg. red or blue?
There’s are many factors to why colors change in the skin.
Here’s a list of reasons as to why colors can change:
Poor pigment choice or quality – the importance of understanding each client’s undertones plays a HUGE role in choosing the right color. As experienced artists, we have the proper knowledge to recommend a color that will complement your skin, and not turn in any funky colors over time. You can trust that we use the highest grade of pigments on the market today.
Over sun exposure – frequent sun exposure causes the ink to fade. This means to protect your investment you must wear sunscreen on your Nano Brows daily to prevent color shifting.
Daily use of retinol – permanent makeup is implanted only at the bottom of the epidermis layer of the skin which is the first layer of the skin. This means daily dosages of products with retinol can cause the ink to fade resulting colour changes.
